Just follow these simple steps to start sniff RS232 right now!
1. First of all you'll need to download RS232 Sniffer. Here is the link - http://www.com-port-monitoring.com/download/serial_port_monitor.exe.
- Open Eltima RS232 Sniffer software.
- Now you can see its main menu. Press Сtrl+N or choose “Session→New session”
- In a new session window choose the desired visualizers and activate all views.
- Later on you can decide which view options are most suitable for you and select only those ones.
- FYI:
Table view shows all recorded IRPs.
Line view shows all data about requests through serial line.
Dump - sent and obtained data passed through serial line.
Terminal - shows all received data in ASCII code.
By the way this system utility can also monitor, analyze and sniff RS485 and RS422 COM ports.
